October 30, 2008

October 29, 2008
Tampa, Fl   Arnold Palmer Golf Academy and Saddlebrook Prep are pleased to congratulate Class of ‘99 Graduate Paula Marti. Paula finished in 2nd position at the Masters Femenino de Golf de la Comunidad de Madrid with a total score 212 (-7).  Paula is in 7th position at the New Star Money List 2008.
Paula attended Saddlebrook Preparatory School and the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy. During her time at the golf academy Paula was National Spanish Champion 1996, Member of Junior Ryder Cup 1995 and 1997, All-American Junior Team 1998, and winner of the prestigious Rolex Junior in 1999. Paula’s coach at Saddlebrook Prep was the current Head Teaching Professional, Rolf Deming.

Deming remembers Marti as having one of the most natural swings he ever worked with. “My greatest concern during Paula’s two years at Saddlebrook,” Deming observes, “was that she would become too mechanical. I tried to simply make sure that she didn’t change her swing. She possessed enormous visual skills. Once she visualized a shot, she couldn’t miss it.”

After graduating from Saddlebrook, Marti played for the University of Florida, qualified for exempt status on the European LPGA Tour, won the European Order of Merit, and competed as an exempt player on the American LPGA Tour.

Saddlebrook Preparatory School  has over 100 students from countries all over the world providing them with a culturally rich learning environment.  There is no better environment in which young athletes can strive for the pinnacle of achievement in this sport. The Saddlebrook Prep System is a high performance golf program that gives students the opportunity to develop their total game including: technique, golf course management, competition, physical fitness, mental conditioning, and a fully accredited, college preparatory education.

Students benefit from a highly educated and dedicated teaching staff and small student to teacher ratios.  The school offers students the choice to enroll in our boarding program or to live with a parent or legal guardian.  We take great pride in working to produce well-rounded and successful young adults.  For more information contact Saddlebrook Prep at www.saddlebrookprep.com or call 813-907-4300.

About Saddlebrook Resort
Saddlebrook Resort is listed as one of the top 100 golf resorts by Conde’ Nast Traveler Magazine . Saddlebrook Resort, surrounded by two of Florida’s most picturesque and playable golf courses, is world headquarters to the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy and is home to Saddlebrook Prep School for golf and tennis. With every golf service and amenity that you could need, Saddlebrook is the ideal golf resort for the serious golfer as well as the beginner.

Each of the Saddlebrook golf courses was designed by golf legend Arnold Palmer, incorporating wilderness areas full of cypress, pines, palms and wildlife with rolling fairways and well maintained greens. His namesake course features Tif-Eagle greens, all redone in 2004, and open, undulating well-guarded greens accented with many lakes, streams and ponds. The Saddlebrook course just opened with new greens in December, 2006 and is much tighter and flatter, with narrow tree-lined fairways and water on most holes. Thanks to our convenient design, the first tees of both courses and the 10th tee of the Saddlebrook course are located at the center of the resort.
As the World Headquarters of the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy, Saddlebrook also has a variety of instructional programs for adults and juniors alike. Golf packages are available, including the Player Development Program, Play with a Pro, or the New Player Academy and week-long Junior Camps. Whether you are here to learn or strengthen your game, the Palmer philosophy of instruction is always easy to understand and fun!
