One of America’s "Top 5 Golf Schools" comes to Winston-Salem!

February 25, 2008 - Long recognized by Golf Magazine as one of America’s best golf academies, the PHIL RITSON - MEL SOLE GOLF SCHOOL is currently ranked "TOP 5" on the magazine’s "Best 25 USA Golf Schools" list. It is one of only 10 academies to remain on this prestigious list since its debut in 1999. Ritson-Sole is also distinguished from other golf schools by its affordable tuition rates.

Headquartered in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area since 1990, the school has expanded to other states with increasing demand for their instruction. Winston-Salem golfers have been very supportive of the school at the beach, and now Ritson-Sole is coming to them! On April 4th 2008, golf classes begin at Olde Homeplace Golf Club, a beautiful 18-hole course located 10 miles southeast of downtown Winston-Salem.

A Grand Opening, featuring a clinic by MEL SOLE on Friday April 4th from 2pm to 4pm, is open to the public. Admission is free and golfers may stay afterwards to participate in the very popular Golf USA Demo Day event from 5pm to 8pm at Olde Homeplace.

Heading up the instruction each week, Tuesdays through Sundays, is Ritson-Sole Teaching Pro Robert Craigmyle, Jr. Robert is a dynamic instructor who has trained personally with Mel Sole and headed up two of our PA sites in recent years.

Golfers of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, can take half-day programs, where mornings focus on the full swing and afternoons feature short game work. Class size is 4 or fewer, and all lessons include computerized video analysis with personal take-home CD for follow up practice. School operates every week 'til Labor Day.

Teaching principles were developed by Golf Magazine "Top Teacher" Mel Sole, a former South African PGA Tour Player, and Phil Ritson, former coach to Gary Player and mentor to David Leadbetter.

Individual and corporate groups are welcome, and instruction is tailored to meet group needs.
