Bird Golf Academy
You would be hard pressed to find a golf school with a collective resume that is more impressive than that of Bird Golf Academy. All of their instructors are either PGA or LPGA professionals with a minimum of 20 years experience. The years of experience alone, however, fail to highlight the depth and quality of their backgrounds as golf professionals. On their teaching staff they have: the Founder of Golf for Women Magazine and former LPGA National Teacher of the Year, a 3 time major championship winner on the LPGA Tour including the LPGA Championship and the US Women's Open, a two time College All-American, their own Mr. 59, authors of several golf instruction books, and members to various Golf Halls of Fame. It is this extensive experience and expertise that allows Bird Golf to craft custom programs that are best suited to each individual student. “Since no two golfers are the same, how could we then teach everyone the same way?,” states Jay Ewing, Founder and Director of the Bird Golf School. It is a simple philosophy that is hard to argue with and one that has obviously served Bird Golf Schools well. Bird Golf Schools have grown to fourteen locations in some of the most desirable places throughout the United States. Their flagship golf school is located at the world class golf resort, Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Arizona. Other outstanding locations include Prescott, Arizona, Florida, Jekyll Island, Georgia as well as four other beautiful locations in Napa Valley California, New Jersey, Nevada, Colorado, & Tennessee.
Another unique element of the Bird Golf Schools Ultimate Learning Experience is that they not only address and solve your swing; but just as importantly teach you how to think on the golf course. This vital ingredient to playing better golf comes under the direction of Carey Mumford, the Bird Schools's 'Director of Game Enhancement'. Mumford is the author of several books, and owner/professor of "KeyGolf". His unique approach to the mental game has earned wide acceptance among US and Canadian PGA golf professionals. Golf Magazine recognized him among the top dozen golf psychologists in the country in 1990, and Golf World Magazine devoted several pages to his book, The Double Connexion, in 1992. Over the past fifteen years, he has faced more than 22,000 of the Class A Member Professionals of the PGA, conducted in excess of 200 clinics for amateurs and professionals in 30 states and Canada, and worked individually with over 100 players on the PGA, LPGA, Seniors, Nike, TC Jordan, Hooters, Futures, and Mini Tours. Through his teaching students learn how to "mentally" improve their game and thought process. After mastering the keys to physical improvement, the instructors introduce students to the "32 ball exercise". This exercise helps bridge the gap between conscious and sub-conscious, where all habit resides. If you are serious about improving your golf game and would like to have the confidence that your instructor will be one of the most experienced in the game, you should give Bird Golf Schools serious consideration. |
